Washington Native Trees along Seattle's Streets

April 3, 2020

April is Native Plant Appreciation Month. Show our plants some love!

Plants provide the ecological foundation for most life on earth, birds included. Learning about Washington’s native plants can help you understand the resources diverse habitats offer and what birds to look for in different plant communities. Knowing your plants can also help you share where birds are located (e.g., “The Golden-crowned Kinglet is halfway up the Western Hemlock!”).

Find your nearest Washington native street tree on the map below. If it is safe to do so while social distancing, give it a visit. Learn more about it. Share a photo with us on Facebook!
